SSG has created an effective training environment to cope with changes in ABS lowered by utilizing advanced equipment and virtual S-zone at the Vero Beach Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC) in Florida, the site of the first spring camp.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced on December 4 last year, "The executive committee has been discussing the zone setting to be applied from the 2025 season, and has finally decided to lower the top and bottom by 0.6 percentage points (about 1 cm for players of 180 cm in height) to apply 55.75% at the top and 27.04% at the bottom."

The size of the zone is expected to remain unchanged and the whole will move downward. In addition to the top and bottom of the zone, the middle and end surfaces of the strike zone, and the width of the left and right sides are maintained. The change in the top and bottom decisions is about 1.2% of all pitching decisions in the 2024 season. In addition, the bottom 27.04% ratio, which will be applied for the 2025 season, is the same as the bottom ratio of the ABS zone, which is being piloted by the U.S. Minor League.

SSG is providing practical training to help players adapt to ABS. In the pitching part, a virtual S-zone made of rubber bands is visualized on a bullpen session where up to six pitchers can pitch, allowing players to intuitively recognize the lowered S-zone and implement their own direction. By using a batter pile (model that can be used for both left and right hitters), the team created a training environment similar to the actual situation, helping players to form optimal pitching target based on left and right hitters.

In addition, SSG introduced "Rhapsody Pro 3.0" in addition to "Portable Trackman" and "Ezertronic High Speed Camera" to collect more tracking data, check pitchers' release points, ball movement, location, and rotation speed, as well as dashboard pitch location information to create an environment where players can adapt in advance by checking the lowered ABS strike zone with their own eyes.

In the batting part, a player visualizes his or her own heating zone on the home plate during the batting exercise to recognize the hitting zone (strength) of each player. The team has created an environment similar to that of actual games through random ball hitting drills such as BP (fastball/changing ball) to maximize the effectiveness of the hitting zone.

Pitcher Cho Byung-hyun said, "It definitely seems to be helpful. I don't care about rubber bands when pitching. Especially when throwing a breaking ball, it is good to see if the ball has passed the strike zone with your eyes. I am continuously using it to pitch."

Infielder Park Ji-hwan said, "I just put the ball in front of my home plate, but I definitely take care of the zone and hit it. If the ball doesn't come in, I instantly think the bat shouldn't go out. Overall, it seems to help a lot."

"I think players will be able to adapt quickly because they experienced ABS last season. We are practicing to throw strikes as much as possible in line with the strike zone formed by rubber bands between camps," pitching coach Kyung Heon-ho said. "I think the key will be to adapt quickly through exhibition games and actual games."
